Careers

A small team.
Hiring slowly.

Argus is profitable, founder-run, and deliberately small. We hire roughly once or twice a year. When we do, the bar is high and the team you join stays small enough to know everyone's name.

— How we work

Some honest fine print.

Before you read the roles, it's worth knowing what kind of company we're trying to be. If any of this is a dealbreaker, we'd rather you find out now.

01 Remote-first, async-first. No required hours. No required Zooms. We document instead of meet, and we trust people to manage their own calendars. Two or three calls a week is typical, not the norm. DEFAULT
02 Small team, broad ownership. Designers ship. Engineers talk to customers. Whoever notices the problem fixes it. If you want narrow lanes and clear handoffs, we're not the right fit. CULTURE
03 Profitable, not venture-funded. Argus is funded by paying customers. We don't burn growth capital, we don't have an exit timeline, and we don't grow faster than we can hire well. Stable comp; meaningful equity isn't on the table. STRUCTURE
04 Comp is at market. We pay competitive Toronto-market salaries (90th percentile), full benefits, and 5 weeks vacation as a starting point. We don't compete on perks; we compete on autonomy and good problems. CASH
05 Slow hiring is on purpose. We typically take 4–6 weeks. Two or three substantive conversations, a paid take-home (real Argus problem, real money), then a working day with the team. We don't ghost candidates. Ever. PROCESS
— Open as of May 2026

Don't see a fit?
Tell us anyway.

We read every application that comes in, even when we're not actively hiring. If you'd be excited to work on Argus and don't see your role on the list, send us something. The best way to stand out: skip the resume, tell us about a thing you built, what you'd change about Argus, or a problem in our space you find interesting.
